With over 15 years of experience, including my current role as Strategic Safeguarding Manager in a Pupil Referral Unit and as a Resilience & Mindset Life Coach, I understand the unique challenges mentors face in guiding young people.

From building trust to overcoming barriers, I have supported and upskilled many mentors, helping them enhance the quality and effectiveness of their mentoring.

In this strategic mentoring training, I’ll provide you with the strategies, skills and confidence you need to make a real difference in the lives of the young people you mentor.
How long is the Strategic Mentoring Training session?

This Strategic Mentoring Training session lasts for 2 hours. There will be a short five-minute comfort break during the session to give you a quick pause to help you stay focused and engaged throughout.

Do I need to prepare anything for the strategic mentoring session?

No, however, bringing a pen and paper is a good idea. You will want to jot down mentoring strategies, ideas and takeaways that you will want to think about and explore further after the training session.

Do I have to turn on my camera during the Strategic Mentoring Training?

Not at all. Keeping your camera off is fine. If you’re comfortable, turning it on at the start of the strategic mentoring session can make things feel more interactive and personable — but there’s no pressure either way.

Am I expected to contribute or speak in the strategic mentoring session?

You won’t be put on the spot or made to speak. That said, contributions and questions are always encouraged. This training works best when you’re involved in a way that suits your own comfort and learning style.

Will the Strategic Mentoring Training session be recorded or available later?

No. Sessions are not recorded. This helps protect everyone’s confidentiality and creates a safe, open space where all participants feel respected and supported throughout the strategic mentoring experience.

Can I request a certificate after completing the Strategic Mentoring Training?

Yes, of course. Just send me a quick email with your full name after the session, and I’ll email you a PDF certificate of attendance — completely free. It’s a great way to evidence your professional development.
